Nias Police Strengthen Anti-Drug Efforts

He emphasized that efforts to combat narcotics could not rely solely on law enforcement agencies but required the involvement of all sectors of society.

“Preventing and combating narcotics requires cooperation among all parties, including law enforcement agencies, relevant institutions, and the public,” Ponzi told reporters on Sunday, October 11, 2026.

He added that law enforcement would continue targeting illegal drug distribution, while people who use drugs would be handled through assessment and rehabilitation in accordance with applicable regulations.

Ponzi also urged residents to report suspicious activities potentially linked to drug abuse or illegal narcotics trafficking in their neighborhoods.

“Help users recover and dismantle drug trafficking networks. The police and the community must work together,” he said.
